Born in Beijing in 1975, Bing Yi currently lives and works in Beijing. She received a Ph.D. in Art from Yale University and is a contemporary artist and curator. She also taught at the State University of New York and presided over the Pompidou project in Beijing from 2005 to 2007.
In addition, she is also the former director of the Zendai Himalaya Art Museum in Shanghai. Her artistic practice includes painting, scenes, video installation, etc.
She has participated in a number of international exhibitions such as the 2008 Gwangju Biennale. In 2012, she exhibited her painting series “The Shape of the Wind” at the St. Johns Cathedral in Berlin, Germany.
1975年生於北京,現居住和工作於北京。
獲得耶魯大學藝術學博士學位,是當代藝術家和策展人。
曾任教於紐約州立大學,從2005年到2007年主持北京龐畢度項目,
曾任上海證大喜瑪拉雅美術館館長。
作品包括繪畫、場景、錄像等,曾參展2008年光州雙年展等國際展覽。
2012年在德國柏林聖約翰斯大教堂展出系列繪畫裝置現場《風的形狀》。
