Gu Wenda was born in Shanghai in 1955. Now living and working in New York and Shanghai.
In the early days of the ’85 Art Movement, he began to apply the misplaced traditional calligraphy to ink works. In 1987, he immigrated to the United States and began to create large-scale installations.
He has held many exhibitions in art galleries and galleries around the world. The work "Tiantan" was on the cover of March 1999, "Art in America." The artistic creation was broadcasted at PBS, the National Broadcasting and Television Corporation of the BBC, and the second national television station of ZDF Germany.
1955年生於上海。現在紐約和上海居住和工作。
「八五」美術新潮運動早期,開始將錯位肢解的書法文字運用於水墨作品。
1987年移民美國,並開始創作大型裝置,在世界各地的美術館、畫廊舉辦過許多展覽;作品《天壇》登上1999年3月《美國藝術》(Art in America) 的封面。
藝術創作曾在PBS美國國家廣播電視公司、BBC英國國家廣播電視公司和ZDF德國國家第二電視台等處播出介紹。
