Huang Yong Ping was born in Xiamen, Fujian in 1954, he graduated from the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts in 1982 and moved to Paris in 1989.
In 1986, Huang founded the "Xiamen Dada" movement. In 1987, the installation work "Chinese painting history and a brief history of modern art in the washing machine for two minutes" was created. The work has participated in exhibitions around the world such as PSI's "Inside Out" in New York and the 48th Venice Biennale.
His solo exhibition "The House of the Fortuneteller" was a touring exhibition held at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, Massachusetts, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Massachusetts, Vancouver Art Galleries and Ullens Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing.
1954年生於福建廈門,1982年畢業於浙江美術學院,1989年移居巴黎至今。
1986年創立「廈門達達」運動,1987年創作了裝置作品《中國繪畫史和現代藝術簡史在洗衣機洗兩分鍾》。
作品曾參加紐約PSI的《中國新藝術》(lnside Out)、第四十八屆威尼斯雙年展等世界各地的展覽。
個展《占卜者之屋》曾在美國明尼阿波利斯沃克藝術中心、麻省當代藝術館、溫哥華美術館和北京的尤倫斯當代藝術中心巡迴展出。
