Shu Yong was born in Zhangpu, Hunan Province in 1974, he graduated from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and currently lives and works in Beijing and Guangzhou.

Shu initiated and created large-scale public art “Ten Thousand People in Red Singing National Anthem”; in 2006, he created the series “Bubble Woman”.

In 2009, he created the "Flower of Life" sculpture in the background of the "May 12 Earthquake" in Sichuan. In the same year, he won the Lifetime Achievement Award of the 7th Florence International Contemporary Art Biennale in Italy.

In 2010, he created "CHINA Kung Fu" for the Shanghai World Expo and participated in the 55th Venice Biennale China Pavilion in 2013.

1974年生於湖南溆浦,畢業於廣州美術學院,現居住和工作於北京及廣州。

舒是大型公共藝術《萬人紅裝唱國歌》的發起人和創作者;2006年創作了雕塑作品「泡女郎」系列。

2009年,以四川「5·12地震」為背景創作了《生命之花》雕塑,同年獲得義大利第七屆佛羅倫薩國際當代藝術雙年展終身成就獎。

2010年,為上海世博會創作了《CHINA•功夫》,2013年參加第五十五屆威尼斯雙年展中國館的展覽。
