王懷慶

Wang Huaiqing was born in Beijing in 1944 and he currently lives and work in Beijing.

In 1964, he entered the Department of Decorative Painting at the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts.

During the Cultural Revolution, when he was decentralized to the countryside, he studied painting with the painter Wu Guanzhong.

In 1981, he graduated from the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts and went to the United States as a visiting scholar in 1987.

In 1988, he participated in the "China: 5000 Years" at the Guggenheim Museum in New York and the Asian Art Fair at the New York Armory Show. Later, he participated in a number of international exhibitions such as the Art Basel in Switzerland.

His paintings "April" and "Bole" are collected by the National Art Museum of China and "Forgotten Garden" is in the collection of the Shanghai Art Museum.

1957年生於哈爾濱,1984年畢業於浙江美術學院油畫專業,現居住和工作於北京。1990年開始創作「大批判」系列作品,被許多藝評家稱為中國政治波普的代表人物。

經常受邀參加世界各地的大型當代藝術展覽,包括第四十五屆威尼斯雙年展、澳洲布里斯本的亞太當代藝術三年展、巴西聖保羅《中國的現代性》展覽、巴黎龐畢度中心的《怎麼樣·中國?》等。

曾在香港、新加坡、巴塞爾、巴黎、首爾、倫敦等地舉行個展。
