Wang Tiande was born in Shanghai in 1960, he graduated from the Chinese Painting Department of the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts in 1988.

After receiving a doctorate degree in calligraphy from the China Academy of Art, he is currently a professor at the Department of Art and Design at Fudan University.

He has held solo exhibitions at the Qianbo Gallery in New York, the Hong Kong Art Gallery, HAN ART in Montreal, the Yishu Space in Vancouver, the GaIerie 99 in Germany and the German Centre in Shanghai.

Since the 1990s, his works have often been selected for major international exhibitions, including the 1998 New York Asian Association Art Gallery and PSI's "lnsideOut", as well as the 2013 Metropolitan Museum exhibition "Ink Art: Past as Present in Contemporary China".

1960年生於上海,1988年畢業於浙江美術學院中國畫系。

後獲得中國美術學院書法系博士學位,現任復旦大學藝術設計系教授。

曾在紐約前波畫廊、香港藝倡畫廊、加拿大蒙特利爾HAN ART、溫哥華Yishu空間、德國GaIerie 99及上海德國中心舉辦個展。

1990年代以來,作品經常被選入國際大型展覽,包括1998年紐約亞洲協會美術館和PSI的《lnsideOut》,以及2013年大都會博物館的《水墨藝術》等。
