Zhang Huan
張洹
Zhang Huan was born in Anyang, Henan Province in 1965, he graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Henan University in 1988. He graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1993.
He moved to New York in 1998 and now lives and works in Shanghai and New York.
In his early years, he expressed his artistic works such as "To Add One Meter to an Unknown Mountain", "To Raise the Water Level in a Fishpond", "12 Square Meters" and so on.
Zhang participated in various international exhibitions such as the Venice Biennale, and his works were collected by world-class institutions such as the Centre Pompidou and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
1965年出生於河南安陽,1988年畢業於河南大學美術系,1993年畢業於中央美術學院碩士進修班。
1998年移居美國紐約,現工作生活於上海和紐約。
早年他以逼近極限的身體表達,創作了《為無名山增高一米》、《為魚塘增高水位》、《12 m²》等行為藝術作品
張參加了威尼斯雙年展等各種國際大展,作品被龐畢度中心、紐約現代美術館等世界級機構收藏。
